California State University Systemwide Scholarships
The CSU Systemwide Scholarship Program offers financial assistance to help students across the CSU’s 23 campuses reach their goals. The scholarships offered include the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement that recognizes students with financial need who epitomize superior academic performance, exemplary community service, and have achieved significant personal accomplishments. Through various endowed gifts and ongoing generous contributions from alumni and friends of the University, we are able to support over $700,000 in scholarships across the CSU system.
Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students – OPEN YEAR ROUND!
Thirty-six (36) scholarships for $10,000 each are available for the 2016-2017 academic year. Also, scholarships remain available til the last day of the Spring quarter for the 2015-2016 academic year!
Established in 1991, the scholarship supports students who have a visual disability with preference to legally blind students. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in at least 6.1 units per term. The CSU will continue to accept applications year-round. Previous scholarship recipients may reapply.
CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement - CLOSED
The CSU Trustees’ Awards for Outstanding Achievement recognize students who have demonstrated financial need, modeled exemplary academic performance, community service and personal accomplishments. He awards are funded through earnings on the William Randolph Hearst Foundation endowment as well as annual contributions from members of the CSU Board of Trustees, CSU Foundation Board of Governors, and other donors. Each of the 23 campuses across the CSU system will have a Trustees’ Award Recipient.
Awards available this year are three named scholarships, in addition to twenty (20) scholarships each in the amount of $6,000.: The name scholarships are the Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar award for $12,000 which recognizes the highest ranked student in the Trustees’ Award review process; the Trustee Emeritus Murray L. Galinson Scholar award for $8,000 which recognizes the scholar who contributed the most service to her or his home, university, or global community; and the Trustee Emerita Claudia Hampton Scholar award for $9,000 to support a scholar who is either studying to be an educator and/or attending a university in the Los Angeles area.
The Campus President will work with the Office of Financial Aid to forward one to two nominations to the CSU Foundation, with one candidate studying in the STEM field.
Glen and Dorothy Dumke Fellowship - CLOSED
One fellowship of $1,400 is available for the 2016-17 academic year for a graduate student in the areas of public policy, American history, economics, library science, archival management, or government, in order to pursue research projects.
Fly Fishers Club of Orange County Marine Studies Scholarship - CLOSED
One scholarship of $1,500 is available for a student who is majoring in marine studies and has a commitment to community service in fisheries biology.
Trustee Emerita Claudia Hampton California Academy of Math and Science Endowment - CLOSED
Four $4,000 scholarships are available for students who have graduated from the California Academy of Math and Science High School.
The William & Janet Lahey Art Education and Visual Arts Scholarship - CLOSED
One scholarship of $10,000 is available for the 2015–2016 academic year for a student in a post-baccalaureate program leading to a high school single subject teaching credential in the arts and will cover tuition, campus fees and a stipend.
Richard Leffingwell Scholarship - CLOSED
Two scholarships of $3,000 are available for students pursuing a course of study in Business and Economics and who have demonstrated an interest in public services. Preference will be given to military veterans.
Wilson C. Riles Education Scholarship - CLOSED
Three $2,000 scholarships are available for students enrolled in the teacher credential program.
