IELTS Schedule on Test Day
The test center will open and registration will begin at 7:15 am. Candidates are expected to arrive at the test center no later than 7:45 am. Failure to arrive at the test center on-time may result in the cancellation of your test and you will not be eligible for a refund.
Please leave personal items (such as cell phones, cameras, iPods, calculators) at home or in your vehicle as you will not be able to take them into the test room. You do not need to bring pencils, erasers or pencil sharpeners, as these are provided to you in the test room.
You are allowed to bring into the test room: drinking water in a completely transparent bottle (no writing or logos) and reading glasses if needed (no case). If you need other forms of liquid or food in the test room for medical reasons, you should contact the IELTS Test Administrator immediately after you have submitted an online application. Please let us know well before the test date if you have any questions regarding what is and what is not permitted in the test room.
Candidates may check personal items in the Test Center Baggage room if needed, however we assume no responsibility for any lost or stolen items
Listening, Reading and Writing Tests
The written portions of the test (Listening, Reading and Writing) begin at 9 am and the total test time is typically 2 hours 45 minutes.
The Speaking portion of the test lasts between 15-20 minutes. Speaking tests are generally scheduled on the same afternoon as the written tests at any time between 1 pm and 7 pm*. You should therefore be prepared to remain at the test center the entire day. You will be informed of your speaking test time on test day. Candidates are expected to arrive at the Speaking Test Check-In/Baggage Room 30 minutes before thier speaking appointment. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your test and you will be ineligible for a refund. Speaking Test times cannot be rescheduled under any circumstances.
*Note that occasionally some speaking exams will be held on another day. You will be contacted via email if your Speaking Exam is to take place on another day.
