While under the "shelter-in-place" order from Alameda and Contra Costa counties, only a limited number of employees will be available on campus to ensure continuity of essential services. Those employees designated to maintain the minimal services and public safety personnel are to report as required by their supervisor.
We will work with other staff to develop a telecommute working arrangement where possible and will provide accommodations in other instances. As we obtain further clarity from the County Public Health Authorities, Chancellor’s Office and the Governor’s Office and if circumstances change, this directive may be adjusted.
Additionally, you can learn more about your rights under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

Faculty, staff and students have access to Zoom Video Conferencing, a service available free to the Cal State East Bay community.
Each user can host online meetings with up to 200 participants using high definition video, audio, and screen sharing across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. With Blackboard and Zoom integration, an instructor will be able to create and link a Zoom meeting room directly to their Blackboard course.
To signup for your free account, please visit http://csueb.zoom.us and click on the sign in button. You will be directed to an authentication screen where you will enter your NetID and password. You will need to install the Zoom application in order to host or participate in a meeting. For University-owned devices, the Zoom application is already pushed to your computer. If you are unable to install the application, please refer to this article to install the client and this article to install the Chrome/Firefox plugin. You can also find a wealth of information at http://support.zoom.us
International travel is prohibited until further notice. If you already made an outlay for registration, you will be reimbursed if that is necessary. You should check with your airline or travel agent to see if you can get credit for any flights booked. Many airlines are being liberal in this regard.
For international travel after May 31, please submit your forms 60 days in advance to your Dean's office. We do not yet know when International Travel will resume. Please do not pay in advance for registration, airfare, or hotel for international travel; wait until it has been approved.
Stateside travel should also be curtailed. Non-essential travel (even to give a speech, appear on a panel, or present a poster) is discouraged. Please ask your conference if you can zoom in or attend in some other way.
With great regret, the in-person May commencement, which is our community’s most important day of the academic year, is being postponed until later in 2020 or 2021. Consideration of public health for all attendees and participants will determine rescheduling. In the meantime, we are also exploring and seeking input on others ways to recognize, honor and celebrate our graduates for their remarkable achievements — but this will not replace our in-person commencement. We will provide an update to the university community when we have more information. For questions concerning commencement, email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
While under the "shelter-in-place" order from Alameda and Contra Costa counties, all campus events have been cancelled.
Please contact H.R. 885-3634, we have an Employee Assistance Program that may be able to help.
