Carmen Crum

Service Area: Santa Clara County and San Lorenzo High Schools

Carmen was born and raised in Rome, Italy, by her Peruvian parents. She completed her education up to high school, then moved to London, England, where she lived for five years and studied Communication and Languages at a Community College. In 1996, she moved to California and completed her Continuing Education studies at Stanford University while working as a Faculty Assistant. Carmen is fluently trilingual in Italian, Spanish, and English. A Cal State East Bay employee since 2005, she strives to help students achieve their goals with a positive and genuine attitude, going the extra mile to ensure they get the best service. She is an avid runner, an Ultra Marathoner, and a Spartan Racer, she loves to share the gift of health and fitness with family, friends, and coworkers.

Gabriela Lomeli

Service Area: San Francisco Peninsula (Excluding Santa Clara County), San Mateo, and Palo Alto Area High Schools. City College of San Francisco, Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College.


Gaby was born in Fresno, CA, and raised in Madera Ranchos in the Central Valley. She loves helping students find their passions in life and supporting them in taking the steps to reach their life-long goals. Gaby received her B.A. in Sociology and minored in Education and Applied Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her M.S. degree in Counseling and holds a PPS credential from San Francisco State University. Gaby puts her students first and enjoys providing support in their process of applying to Cal State East Bay. She is passionate about social justice and strives to help students to pursue their educational and career goals through CSU East Bay. She partners with high school and college counselors to ensure that students can transition into CSU East Bay with ease. She likes to go hiking in nature, travel, listen to true crime podcasts, spend time with family, and go on walks with her miniature dachshund.

Jamee Robbins

Service Area: Contra Costa Community College District, Diablo Valley College, Solano/Napa/Sonoma County Community Colleges, Los Rios Community College District (Sac), San Joaquin Delta College, & Las Positas College; Pittsburg & Antioch USD; and inquiries about the Cal State East Bay Concord Campus

Originally from Antioch, CA, Jamee attended college out of state (Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT), where she played soccer and received her B.S. in Business Management. She also has her M.S. in Business from the University of South Dakota.  Jamee is a dedicated college counselor whose goal is to help students achieve success in the college process. Jamee has a wide range of experience counseling transfer students and is passionate about working with community college students, helping them identify their personal and educational goals. She has a personable, genuine approach when interacting with students and looks forward to providing the guidance you need to succeed.  Jamee is a dog lover. On the weekends, she enjoys doing something with her two dogs outdoors.

Jorge Flores

Service Area: Freedom High School, Heritage High School, Liberty High School, and Southern California.


Jorge was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and raised in Union City, CA. He attended James Logan High School and Los Medanos College.  He earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a minor in Ethnic Studies from Cal State East Bay. As a first-generation college graduate, he strongly believes in the importance of post-secondary education and the power it yields toward the betterment of society. After more than two decades of working and coaching in high school, he continues to volunteer as a youth football coach. He thrives in mentoring high school and transfer students in their pursuit of higher education.

Matt Malepeai

Service Area: Hayward High Schools, Chabot Community College, Contra Costa County (Antioch, Brentwood, Concord, Lamorinda, Martinez, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon Valley, and Walnut Creek), Sacramento County, Yolo County, Placer County, and Solano County High Schools

Matt is a native of South San Francisco who received his B.A. in History from UC Davis in 2014. He spent his early career working as an agricultural consultant throughout the state before transitioning into a career in student services. Matt served as a Graduate Program Coordinator at UC Davis for five years before moving on to the outreach team at Sierra College. There, he was the enrollment specialist for Placer Union High School District, career technical education programs, adult learners, and indigenous student populations. Matt enjoys getting students excited about the prospect of completing a degree at Cal State East Bay. From support with applying, to selecting a major, to completing their admissions process: he is there every step of the way to keep students encouraged and motivated for the journey ahead. In his personal time, you’re likely to find Matt hiking with his dog, enjoying an evening of professional wrestling, or supporting local indigenous groups at community events throughout northern California.

Marc Strong

Service Area: East Bay Community Colleges and High Schools - College of Alameda, Berkeley City College, Merritt College. All high schools in Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, Albany, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Pinole, Hercules, and the City of Alameda.

Marc studied at San Francisco State University and received his B.A. in international relations. He also has an M.A. in political science from Howard University. Marc enjoys advising students about admission and helping them identify their career choice by highlighting Cal State East Bay's many major subject offerings. He advises students to find a mentor or internship to build real-world job skills prior to graduation, a job search, or pursuing graduate education. Marc enjoys Lake Merritt in Oakland, art house movie theaters, and dining out in San Francisco, his college stomping grounds.

Sandra Perez

Service Area: Bakersfield College and Central Valley,  American High School, Castro Valley High School, Fremont Christian High School, Irvington High School, James Logan High School, John F. Kennedy High School, Mission San Jose High School, Newark Memorial High School Ohlone College, Washington High School, Stockton High Schools, and Tracy High Schools

Originally from Shafter, CA, Sandra is a first-generation college student that loves working with students and is passionate about helping them pursue higher education. She goes above and beyond for her students in helping them with their admissions, identifying career goals, and major selection, and help make their transition from high school to college as smooth as possible. Sandra received her Bachelor's degree from Sac State and her master's in Educational Counseling from CSUB. Sandra is student-centered and focused on developing quality student-counselor relationships to best assist student needs. She is bilingual in Spanish & English and is always willing to help. Sandra enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and tennis to name a few. She loves spending time with family and is very adventurous.
