Business Culture & Communication in Silicon Valley

This program is designed for professionals and business-oriented students who want to focus on English for the business environment and learn about business culture of Silicon Valley. It is limited to a maximum of 20 participants so apply now to secure your spot! 

 

Participants will: 

  • participate in seminars led by business and technology professionals
  • improve their presentation skills
  • practice facilitating meetings and negotiating
  • visit companies in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area
  • enjoy a relaxing day at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with other international participants on weekend

 

Requirements for Admission

  • Current college students or working professionals with advanced English proficiency (IELTS 6.0; TOEFL iBT 71, Duolingo 100 or equivalent)
  • Approved tourist visa to visit the U.S

Fees

$1,700 includes application and program fees.

Optional: $600 for on-campus housing (move-in on July 9 & move-out on July 17)

Fees are accepted by credit card payment only. A link to the payment portal will be emailed to you after your application form is received by the Global Academy office.

 

Travel, Housing, and Dining Options:

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from campus, local transportation, and meals while attending the program.

Let us know if you're arranging housing on your own.   

Please also visit   Housing for International Students  for several housing options which include contact information for homestay vendors, local hotels and other short-term housing options. There are several dining options on campus; the Pioneer Kitchen (cafeteria) offers a variety of delicious and healthy choices. Starbucks is a popular place for snacks and drinks between and after classes. You can also find a variety of ethnic food restaurants and grocery stores (American, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese and more!) in Hayward and nearby cities.
