Cal State East Bay is participating in #GivingTuesday — the national day of giving — on November 30 with the goal of raising 450 gifts to support the university’s students and programs.

Donors can make a gift to student success programs, athletics, student enrichment and much more. Visit the #GivingTuesday website for suggested areas of support.

Giving Tuesday is a global celebration of generosity that is held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year and encourages people to give back to their communities. Cal State East Bay has participated since 2018, raising funds for programs and departments, including Pioneers for H.O.P.E., Renaissance Scholars, the Green Biome Institute, the Women in Leadership program, and much more.

"Our students work incredibly hard to achieve their goal of completing their degree and your support on Giving Tuesday makes a direct impact on their experience," said Holly Stanco, Associate Vice President for Development.

The university will have a head start to its goal thanks to the enthusiastic support of its athletic programs. Every player, coach and staff member across all 13 athletic teams has already pledged to make a #GivingTuesday gift.

The Cal State East Bay community also has an opportunity to help the university reach several “challenge” gifts. Several donors have pledged to make large matching gifts that will be unlocked as various milestones are reached throughout the day.
