California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) is proud to welcome men and women who have served in the United States military. CSUEB deeply appreciates the sacrifice you have made to protect our country through your military service.
The purpose of Veteran Students Services is to provide wraparound student support services to all CSUEB veteran students. Program services are organized around two key services: (1) one-on-one holistic academic counseling that includes academic advisement, career & goal planning, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, guidance on balancing academic and personal life and (2) processing educational benefits and benefits coaching/guidance on the effective use of VA benefits and/or other resources to achieve your education and career goals.
Additionally, the program offers peer-mentoring, tutoring, referrals to other departments and external agencies and opportunities for networking and building a community of veteran students. Veteran Students Services is a student centered program that works closely with the CSUEB Student Veteran Organization to promote the needs of veteran students in the university community.
The Veterans Resource Center is located in LI 2200 (in the building directly across from Starbucks). Our hours of operation are Monday thru Thursday (10:00am - 5:00pm) and Friday (10:00am - 3:00pm). The Veterans Lounge is equipped with study desks, a microwave, computers, snacks, coffee, refrigerator, and much more.
Students (veterans and dependents of veterans) who are eligible to use VA Education Benefits must complete the Veterans Educational Benefits Certification Request (VEBCR) form in MyCSUEB. The form must be completed each semester after enrolling in classes*. Please refer to the How-To Guide for instructions on submitting certification requests through the MyCSUEB portal.
*The VEBCR form only needs to be completed if you’re enrolled and requesting VA payment.
