Applying to the Program

Apply for the Summer Quarter:

Students who need to take any foundation courses must apply for the Summer Quarter to start the

MSA program. These courses are:

ACCT 2251: Introduction to Financial Accounting

ACCT 2253: Introduction to Managerial Accounting

ACCT 3170: Accounting Information Systems

ACCT 3220: Tax Accounting: Fundamentals and Individuals

Detailed information about the foundation course requirements may be found on the Curriculum page. The foundation courses needed for each applicant will be determined after reviewing the transcripts submitted by the MSA Program Director at the time of the interview.

Students can apply for summer admission on Cal State Apply starting mid-December. If you are having difficulty applying for summer contact gradadmission@csueastbay.edu for assistance.

Applications for Summer Quarter opens on February 1 on Cal State Apply.

U.S. students (students who received their bachelor degree from a US university) can apply for summer admission on Cal State Apply starting mid-December. You can contact gradadmission@csueastbay.edu and include your email address you will use for the MSA application. Graduate Admission Office will provide you access to apply for the 2017 Summer Quarter.

International students (students who received their bachelor degree from a university outside of the U.S.) can apply for Fall 2017. When needed, IAO will adjust your application to Summer 17.

Applying for the Fall Quarter:

Students who have completed all four foundation courses should apply for Fall Quarter.

Applications for Fall Quarter opens on October 1 on Cal State Apply.

Required Admission Documents:

1. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

2. Official GMAT (or GRE) score

3. Official TOEFL or IELTS scores required for international students

4. Personal statement (if not included on the application form)

5. A resume including relevant business experience

6. Recommendation letters are not required, but recommended

Application Process

1. Submit an application form for the MSA program through Cal State Apply with an

application fee of $55. Fall application opens on 10/1 on Cal State Apply each year. Summer

application is available on Cal State Apply in mid-December.

2. Mail the official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to

3. Request official GMAT or GRE test scores to be sent to CSUEB,

1. GMAT -MSA program Code - TCV-K9- 86

2. GRE –CSUEB code – 4011

4. For international students, request official TOEFL or IELTS scores to be sent to CSUEB

- Code 4011.

5. Email the following documents directly to msaccountancy@csueastbay.edu.

1. Statement of Purpose (if not included on the Cal State Apply application form)

2. A resume including relevant business experience

3. Recommendation letters are recommended, but not required. You can have the

recommendation letters sent to the address above or to the email address above.

6. Applicants can send a scanned copy of the official transcripts, GMAT/GRE and TOEFL

score reports for interviews or for consideration first to msaccountancy@csueastbay.edu.

But the official transcripts and test scores must be submitted before an applicant can be

admitted to the program.

7. Only completed applications will be reviewed. Any application that has missing

documents will not be reviewed until it is completed.

Admission Deadlines

First round application deadline: January 31, 2017.

Second round application deadline: March 31, 2017.

Third round application deadline: April 30, 2017 (If spaces are still available)
