Student Historical Society

The Student Historical Society (SHS) gives students a place to come together, find help with classes, put together events, and form lifelong bonds with fellow students. The SHS is a great way for the far-flung body of Cal State East Bay students to unite over their passion for history.

The SHS is built around events and shared projects. We host our own functions and work with the History Department to stage larger affairs. Past events include field trips to the new S.F. Asian Art Museum, the USS Hornet, the Sacramento Train Museum, and organization of our own student history conference. Recently, we have hosted movie nights and sponsored a career talk on how to market yourself as a history major.  The SHS is also the driving force behind East Bay Historia, our in-house student journal.

Network with other students about their experiences with the department and learn strategies for getting through the program smoothly. The SHS gives you an opportunity to discuss favorite classes and professors so you can be better prepared for your Cal State journey.

The SHS is an official CSUEB club. Election to SHS officer positions is open to all CSUEB students and looks great on your resume!
