Center for Community Engagement

The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) supports a variety of community-based learning that happens within academic courses. Our stated mission is to enhance learning, inspire engagement, and improve community well-being.

We do this by advocating for and facilitating meaningful learning experiences that contribute to positive growth within the East Bay region through collaborative partnerships, effective practices, and resource development.

Our strategic goals include:
  • Supporting teaching and learning that enhances student development through community engagement
  • Encouraging a campus culture that values community engagement
  • Developing infrastructure that facilitates community-based learning and engagement
  • Growing and developing mutually beneficial community partnerships that reflect the needs of the region and the learning outcomes of the university
Our community partners represent a broad scope of non-profit, social service, and public entities that contribute to education, arts, equity, community health, food security, and sustainability.
