Call for Proposals

Present at the Queer Conference

We will begin accepting proposals shortly. Sign-up for the Queer Conference Email List to be notified when the Call for Proposals opens. This year we are looking for submissions that reflect our theme:

Joy is Resistance: Decolonial Practices and Queer Healing.

Suggested topics include: Queer Joy, activism, self-care, grassroots mobilization, healing spaces, etc. Feel free to expand on the theme or submit other timely proposals. The last day to submit a proposal is February 1st, 2020 at 11:59PM. After the deadline the Proposal Evaluation Committee will review all submissions and inform the presenters of the approval status of their proposal.

Learning Outcomes

Below we provide our learning outcomes/goals for the 2020 Queer Conference. This information does not encompass all topics that will be covered at the Queer Conference. It's purpose is to help provide some additional guidance for those interested in submitting proposals!

  • Further identify the roots and history of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly how our ancestors have resisted and fought for justice
  • Integrate methods of individual and community healing into their understanding of self-care, community building, and personal identity development
  • Confidently communicate new ideas and concepts about LGBTQ+ community, activism and healing with their local communities
  • Develop personal and collective strategies to address oppression and marginalization that happens on college campuses and in the greater community
  • Build relationships with and assist in the formation of a statewide network of LGBTQ+ activists
