CDPH Internship

CSU Los Angeles, Sacramento State, and the California Department of Public Health have an internship opportunity for CSU Health Sciences students across the state.

Cal State East Bay can submit two names for consideration. 

Student undergraduate Internships are available at the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in Sacramento. Internships are 20-30 hours per week for 15 weeks (fall and spring) or 12 weeks (summer). Interns receive a modest salary.

Interns must live in Sacramento in housing provided by Sacramento State.

You must be a Senior in Health Sciences and a Community Health, Health Administration, or Enviornmental Health option student.

You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must have taken and passed HSC 3400 with a B or better.

Spring Internship (late January to mid May) - Application due October 25.

Fall Internship (late August to mid December) - Application due May 1.

Summer Internship (late May to August) - Application due March 1.

Submit a 1 - 2 page letter of interest and a resume to one of the full-time faculty members in the program. Your letter should discuss why you are interested in the internship. You should also submit a letter of recommendation from one of the full-time faculty members.

The Health Sciences faculty will choose two students and submit their applications to CDPH. Only two students can be submitted on behalf of Cal State East Bay.

Once names are submitted to CDPH, students will be intereviewed by the Department of Public Health. Having your name submitted by Cal State East Bay does not guarantee a position in the internship.
