CSUEB AACE to offer career planning workshops, Feb. 7 and 11

  • February 5, 2013 5:10am

The time to start preparing for your career is now – not a week out from graduation - says Academic Advising and Career Education (AACE) at Cal State East Bay.  They will be offering two workshops in February to help prepare Pioneers for a future career search.

February 7 -"Getting the Most from CBAY."  CBAY is CSUEB’s on-line, password-protected jobs database. But it is also much more. This workshop will tell students how to get the most from the information hidden away on CBAY: jobs and internships, career fairs, employer data, events, and much more. The one-hour workshop will cover access to CBAY and manipulation of data within the system.

February 11 - "Internship Strategies." AACE will cover ways to find existing internships as well as developing internships in companies that had never thought of becoming internship sites. They'll talk about what to expect in an internship, and how it can help you network in your prospective career. The one-hour workshop will include how to look for available internships through CBAY.

Students can sign up in advance for both workshops by calling or visiting us at AACE, on the second floor of the SSA building on the Hayward campus.  For more information, contact AACE by email: or phone: (510) 885-3621.

AACE says don't forget that 80% of all jobs are not listed! That's why Pioneers are encouraged to work with AACE in developing a job search strategy that will "work" for them.
