CSUEB hosts experts on high costs of stadiums, college sports Wednesday

Cal State East Bay will host two events Wednesday, April 24, on the Hayward Campus related to the hidden and high financial costs of sports.

Victor Matheson, associate professor of economics at College of the Holy Cross, will present "Stadiums, Mega Events, and Public Finance Follies" as part of the Smith Center for Private Enterprise Studies Speaker Series. That commences at 2 p.m. in room 311 of the Old University Union.
 
Then at 7 p.m., three outspoken writers and activists on collegiate athletics will talk about “The Hidden Costs of College Sports” as part of a Center for Sport and Social Justice presentation in the University Theatre. Authors Murray Sperber and Billy Hawkins will join noted sports physician Cindy J. Chang in the discussion.
