Subject Matter Competency
Besides earning a Bachelor's degree, teacher's candidates must demonstrate Subject Matter Competency in the subject they wish to teach. This can be accomplished by passing CSET or alternatively go through Approved Subject Matter Program.

Approved Subject Matter Program
Department of Math & Science at CSU EastBay has an approval for mathematics teaching credential.
Currently the university is working on getting the science program approved.
