IELTS Schedule on Test Day

All test takers will receive a confirmation email two to four days before the date of the test. This email will contain important test day details such as start times and testing locations. Please print and read this email carefully. The details of a test day change from test to test, however the events of a typical test day are as follows.

IELTS LogoRegistration

The test center will open and registration will begin between 7:15-8:00 AM. The exact time that you will need to report to the test center will be emailed to you the week of the test. Failure to arrive at the test center on-time may result in the cancellation of your test and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Please leave personal items (such as cell phones, cameras, iPods, calculators) at home or in your vehicle as you will not be able to take them into the test room. You do not need to bring pencils, erasers or pencil sharpeners, as these are provided to you in the test room.

You are allowed to bring your passport, drinking water in a completely transparent bottle (no writing or logos, no color) and reading glasses if needed (no case) into the test room. If you need other forms of liquid or food in the test room for medical reasons, you should contact the IELTS Test Administrator immediately after you submit an online registration. Please let us know well before the test date if you have any questions regarding what is and what is not permitted in the test room.

Test takers may check personal items in the Test Center Baggage room if needed, however we assume no responsibility for any lost or stolen items

Listening, Reading and Writing Tests

The written portions of the test (Listening, Reading and Writing) begin at 9:00 AM and the total test time is typically 2 hours 45 minutes. Please note, this test center does not use headphones for the Listening test. The audio for the Listening test is projected through speakers.

Speaking Tests

The Speaking section of the test lasts between 15-20 minutes. Speaking tests are generally scheduled on the same afternoon as the written tests at any time between 1 pm and 7 pm*. You should therefore be prepared to remain at the test center the entire day. You will be informed of your Speaking test time on test day. Test Takers are expected to arrive at the Speaking Test Check-In/Baggage Room 30 minutes before their speaking appointment. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your test and you will be ineligible for a refund. Speaking test times cannot be rescheduled under any circumstances.  Requests for particular speaking test appointment times will not be honored.

*Note that occasionally Speaking tests will be held on another day. You will be contacted via email if your Speaking test is to take place on another day.
