Pioneer Hikes

Pioneer Hikes
Join your fellow Pioneer alumni, friends, and family for seven scheduled explorations of different East Bay Regional Parks to get fit and stay fit in the new year! Pioneer Hikes vary in difficulty yet are great for all skill levels.
 
Pioneers who complete all 7 hikes by checking in with the campus representatives at each location will receive a commemorative 2022 Pioneer Hikes pin at the last scheduled hike.
Pioneer Hikes are scheduled for 1/8, 1/29, 2/12, 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, and 4/9.

Coyote Hills

Coyote Hills Regional Park

Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 9 a.m.

Trail: Bayview and Meadowlark Trail Loop
Mileage: 4.9
Difficulty: Easy

Meeting place: Coyote Hill Parking Lot (look for the CSU East Bay flag)
Parking: $5/vehicle
Dogs: $2 per dog. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.
Don Castro

Don Castro Regional Recreational Area

Trail: Don Castro Lake, Newt Pond Trail, and Deer Canyon Loop
Mileage: 5.5
Difficulty: Easy

Meeting place: Don Castro Reional Park parking lot (look for Cal State East Bay flag)
Parking: $5/vehicle
Dogs: $2 per dog. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.

East Avenue

East Avenue Park

Trail: East Avenue and Ward Creek Trail Loop

Difficulty: Moderate (Steep inclines and/or declines)

Meeting place: East Avenue and Ward Creek Trail Loop trailhead (look for Cal State East Bay flag)

Dry Creek

Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Park

Trail: May Trail, High Ridge Loop, Tolman Peak and South Fork Loop
Mileage: 5
Difficulty: Moderate (Steep inclines and/or declines)

Meeting place: Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Park parking lot

Dogs: $2 per dog (must be kept on leash at all times)
