Pioneer Hikes

Pioneer Hikes

Join fellow Pioneer alumni, friends, and family for 7 morning hikes of different East Bay Regional Parks. Pioneer Hikes vary in difficulty yet are great for all skill levels.

Pioneers who join will receive a special gift for being part of the Alumni Hiking group and will also receive a commemorative 2020 Trail Challenge Pin and T-shirt upon completion of all seven hikes. Pioneer Hikes are scheduled for 1/4, 1/18, 2/8, 2/29, 3/7, 3/21, and 4/11.

Claremont Canyon

Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve

Saturday, Feb. 29 at 9 a.m.

Trail: Stonewall Panoramic Trail 
Mileage: 2.6
Difficulty: Moderate
Uphill for the first half with some steep climbs to panoramic hilltop views.

Meeting place: Stonewall Panoramic Trail Trailhead
Parking: Street parking only. Stonewall Road is very narrow with parking on only one side of the street so carpooling is suggested.
Dogs: No fee.

 

Note: This is a dirt trail. In the event of rain, the trail location will be changed.

Dublin Hills

Dublin Hills Regional Park

Saturday, Mar. 7 at 9 a.m.

Trail: Calaveras Ridge Regional/Donlon Loop/Calaveras Ridge Trails
Mileage: 4.03
Difficulty: Moderate

Meeting place: Donlon Point Staging Area
Parking: $5/vehicle
Dogs: $2 per dog. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.

Redwoods

Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park

Saturday, Mar. 21 at 9 a.m.

Trail: Stream Trail/East Ridge Trail/Canyon Trail
Mileage: 6.2
Difficulty: Challenging

Meeting place: Redwood Gate
Parking: $5/vehicle
Dogs: $2 per dog. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.
