About the Center for Student Research

What is the Center for Student Research? The CSR is a center on our campus that houses multiple programs designed to support student development and success. Primary Purpose: Support students working with faculty in outside of the classroom research, scholarly, or creative activity project work related to their discipline. Secondary Purpose: Provide students with CSR opportunities to develop and refine foundational skills, thoughts, and beliefs about learning and professional development and success. CSR's goals: Increased student positive self-beliefs, personal agency and academic engagement, and academic retention and success.

CSR Scholar's Program

Our Program is designed to engage students in their learning and development at a deeper level. Our Scholars can either engage in a faculty mentored research project, or, a faculty mentored creative activity or other scholarly project. This means that students from all disciplines are eligible for our Program!

Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program

A CSU system-wide program dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented students to complete quality degree programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

BET McNair

A federal TRIO program designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.

Beckman Scholar's Program

The Beckman Scholars Program is a 15-month mentored research experience for exceptional undergraduate students in chemistry, biological sciences, or interdisciplinary combinations thereof.

Council for Ocean Affairs, Science, and Technology (COAST)

A CSU organization that encompasses all marine, estuarine, coastal, and coastal watershed-related activities.

WSU Diversity Scholars Program

A partnership between CSR and Washington State University (WSU). WSU is a land-grant institution with several campuses located all over the state of Washington and award graduate (MS and PhD) degrees.

Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) Internship

A laboratory internship program that is a partnership between CSR and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
