Department of Sociology

I taught Social Welfare in Spring of 2020 which was very successful.  I am looking forward to continue teaching in the Fall of 2020.  I will be teaching Soc 403 Sociology of Family and Soc 496 Special Topic Sexual Violence.  Although it will be online, I look forward to seeing my students on Zoom in the Fall.  Please stay tuned on Blackboard and your Horizon email for communications.

My focus is in Children and Families, Child Welfare and Sexual Trauma. As a graduate from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work, I focused on Child Welfare Services and Motivational Interviewing. I attended California State University, East Bay and graduated with a master’s degree in social work with a focus in Child Welfare Policy and research. I have  conducted research in Child Sexual Exploitation and Foster Care.
