Director of current grants: (1) 1998-2014: the East Bay Biotechnology Education Program provides workshops  for high-school science teachers in the East Bay, to use the kit for doing hands-on biotechnology activities by high-school students, funded by the Natonal Science Foundation for $250,000 in 1994-97; funded by the Genentech Foundation for a total of $1,031,604 in 1997-2011; funded by the Bayer Foundation starting in 2011.  (2) 2008-2017, co-director of Noyce Scholarships, funded by the National Science Foundation to recruit and support future secondary science and math teachers for a total of $750,000 in 2008 to 2013, and $800,000 in 2013-2017.  (3) 2008-2013, Funded by Project Learning Tree to provide workshops for science teachers on the ethics of biotechnology.  (4) 2011 and 2013, grants form Phi Delta Kappa International for providing workshops to teachers of environmental education, for $950 and $1,000.  (5) 2014-2015 co-director of Pogrammatic Excellence and nnovation in Learning grant of the CSU, East Bay, to do "Environmental Restoration and Monitoring Service Learning as a Tool for Interdidsciplinary Education," for $70,000.
