Bay Area Math Collaborative (BAM-C)

About Us

The Bay Area Math Collaborative (BAM-C), a partnership of 5 community colleges and two CSU’s working together to improve student outcomes, particularly for student historically underrepresented in STEM, in precalculus and other entry-level math classes. The group has been working together to develop new tools, materials and strategies and on creating a professional development structure to share innovations with other math faculty.

Our current project, the Equitable Math Assessment Project (EMAP), funded by the California Education Learning Lab is focused on developing and promoting alternative forms of assessment that better allow students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge. The group will also be working on developing a teaching checklist to prompt instructors to use innovative teaching practice to engage all students.
