Student Assistants Selection Process

Student Housing and Residence Life is excited to announce that we are currently in the process of selecting student assistants for the summer and/or the 2022-2023 academic year. We encourage those that are interested to review the positions below and submit an application for any area of interest. The conference assistant supports the Conference Coordinator by keeping track of emails received, making sure items are prepared ahead of time, supporting the guest service assistants, and billing. Once- three times a week the conference assistant will be on call through the night for any overnight conference issues or concerns. Other functions might be required based on need. This is a year-round position including summer and requires applicants to live on-campus for the summer- housing is part of the compensation packet.
Guest Service Assistants are responsible for supporting guests at check-in and throughout their stay. Prior to guests’ arrival, they are required to prepare rooms and make sure everything the guest requests are ready. After departure, they have to remove conference belongings and report any damages. Once to three times a week, Guest Service Assistants will be on call through the night for any overnight conference issues or concerns. This position is only for the summer and requires successful applicants to live on-campus housing will be part of the compensation packet.
Things you’ll need complete if offered a position:
Livescan: This applies if you have never completed one for the campus or it’s been 2 or more years since your last one. You will receive more information regarding this after accepting your offer.
Hiring Packet: You will receive more information regarding this after the results from your livescan come back. Please note it can take 1-2 weeks to receive the livescan results. The hiring packet also includes going to payroll and completing I-9 Employment Verification paperwork if you have not worked on campus. It is recommended that you gather all documents needed for the completion of this paperwork in advance so it does not delay your onboarding process. Online Training Modules: You will receive more information on required onboarding training once your hiring paperwork is processed and your staff email is set up. Please note it can take a few weeks (and sometimes longer) for all paperwork to process.
