Cal State East Bay’s online hospitality management program was recently recognized as one of the top nine programs in the U.S. by a college ranking website called the Center for Online Education.

According to COE, CSUEB’s bachelor’s degree program gives students “a comprehensive hospitality professional’s skill set.” It places extra emphasis on problem-solving and the skills needed in the field to make guests and customers feel welcome and comfortable.

Students also have access to resources that allow them to “ensure guest satisfaction across all levels of hospitality — hotels, cruises, conferences and everything in between.” In addition, they receive basic business skills that help with accounting, project management and finance, while gaining familiarity through specific hospitality issues like lodging, food and beverage management, customer care and hotel management.

CSUEB’s online courses are archived and accessed through the online learning platform Blackboard, where small classes of students are taught by industry-involved faculty. The university also offers an accelerated graduation option that caters to employed students.

COE, formerly known as OnlineColleges.net, was started in 2009 in response to the surge in students looking for online education programs. The website has a team of internal experts and collaborative partners that rank universities, and create student guides and in-depth analyses of current online education trends.
