‘Hallmark of Excellence’

Cal State East Bay’s College of Business and Economics has once more received accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction held by only five percent of business schools in the world.

Founded in 1916, the AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools and the largest international business education network.

Accredited business schools are required to go through a rigorous internal review process every five years to maintain accreditation. The standards require a focus on excellence in all areas including teaching, research, curriculum development, innovation and student learning.

“While celebrating this clean and unconditional reaccreditation, I would like to emphasize this achievement is the result of CBE’s collective efforts of students, staff and faculty for many years, starting from the development of CBE’s AQ/PQ standards in response to AACSB’s 2003 Standards,” said Xinjian Lu, interim dean of the College of Business and Economics.

Established in 1957, the College of Business and Economics provides life-changing, quality business education to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to become successful business professionals and leaders. It has received numerous accolades and has earned its place in rankings, including having been included on the Princeton Review’s Best Business Schools 2018 list and recognized as one of the Best Undergraduate Business Programs by U.S. News and World Report.
