Cal State East Bay boasts two of the top online programs in the nation.

According to the U.S. News and World Report’s 2019 rankings of the best online programs offered nationwide, the university was listed as No. 217 in best online programs and No. 148 for its online education program. In California, the university was ranked No. 6 in the state and No. 2 among the CSU campuses. The rankings, released earlier this week, evaluated more than 1,500 online bachelor’s and graduate programs in nursing, business, education and engineering.

U.S. News evaluated several factors in each category including graduation rates, faculty credentials and support services available to remote students, according to the organization.

"Online programs can offer a flexible learning environment for students who have to balance classes with working a full-time job, caring for their family or other responsibilities," Anita Narayan, managing editor of education at U.S. News, said in a statement about the rankings. "The Best Online Programs rankings allow students to compare accredited programs and find those that best fit their education interests and career goals."
