Cal State East Bay will host the California State University Board of Trustees for an open forum Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 12-2 p.m. in the University Union Multipurpose Room for members of the campus community to provide feedback as the search for the next chancellor begins.

The forum follows Chancellor Timothy P. White’s announcement earlier this month that he would retire at the end of the 2019-20 academic year. It is one stop of several on a statewide listening tour, and all members of the campus and extended community are encouraged to attend.

Participants will be asked to give feedback about the qualities and experience required of the next CSU chancellor, as well as their thoughts about the future of the CSU. Information shared at the forums will be used to develop a profile and help guide the recruitment of White’s successor.

For anyone not able to attend the open forum, it will be live-streamed and archived on the Chancellor’s Recruitment website, which will also include a feedback section.

Similar forums will take place at various CSU campuses throughout the state including:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Dumke Auditorium at the California State University Office of the Chancellor (estimated start time pending the conclusion of the Board of Trustees meeting)

  • Friday, Nov. 22, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Services Building - multipurpose room at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona

  • Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom at California State University, San Marcos

  • Thursday, Dec.r 5 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union at California State University, Fresno

More information about White and his retirement are available on the CSU Chancellor’s Office website.
