Nicole Dickson, BA, psychology (’88), published her first novel, Casting Off, about an archaeologist and single mother who travels to a tiny island off the west coast of Ireland to study the island’s ganseys, or traditional knit sweaters, whose distinctive patterns tell a story in each knitted row and stitch. Casting Off was a finalist for grand prize in the Amazon.com "Breakthrough Novel" contest.

Dickson is currently working on her second novel about the culinary world. Dickson said, “My current project is about a chef, the palette, and redemption. Those all go together. Difficult, I am sure, to see how, but they do - wonderfully!” She resides in North Carolina with her daughter.

Congrats, Nicole!
