Cal State East Bay library will pay tribute to faculty authors and artists who have written books, articles, musical compositions, produced art work or directed theatrical productions during the period September 2008-September 2010. More than 50 faculty members submitted the titles of their works and will receive recognition in a ceremony that will be attended by President Mo Qayoumi and Provost James Houpis. 

Marc Jacobs, assistant professor of theatre and dance, will present highlights from his play, “All the More to Love,” which premiered in April 2010 and received a grant from the Edgerton Foundation.

Several faculty book authors will also be feted, including:

Stephen D. Gutierrez, professor of English and director of creative writing, for his book Live from Fresno y Los (2009 Bear Star Press) which won an “American Book Award”.

Stephen J. Morewitz, lecturer in the department of nursing and health Sciences for his book, Death Threats. New Research and Clinical Perspectives (2008 Springer) Morewitz's book reached #1 on Amazon.com in the Psychology & Counseling section.

Carlos Salomon, assistant professor of ethnic studies and director of the Latin American Studies program, for his book, Pio Pico: The Last Governor of Mexican California (2010 University of Oklahoma Press).
