Debra Barrett-Graves, Cal State East Bay professor of English, will present a lecture series exploring Murasaki Shikibu's, "Tale of Genji," which is considered to be the world's first novel. It is a classic work of Japanese literature written in the early eleventh century, around the peak of the Heian period.

Shikibu's work describes an 11th-century world of love triangles, jealousy, and betrayals.

This event is offered as part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program on the CSUEB Concord Campus starting Tuesday, April 5 at 1:30pm.

Visit the OLLI Web site for more information or to register for the program.
