CSUEB alumna leads Vallejo City Unified School District

Ramona Bishop is starting her first school year as the Superintendent of Vallejo City Unified School District. She earned her master's degree and administrative credential from Cal State East Bay.

In addition to teaching, Bishop has served as the principal of three elementary schools, and held several district office positions in Emery School District, Sacramento Unified School District, and Del Paso Heights Elementary School District. She was also Superintendent of the Del Paso Heights School District prior to its consolidation with three other districts into the Twin Rivers Unified School District.Colleagues and community members have recognized her for her excellence in education.

Rather than be defined by her impressive resume, Bishop has said, "I am just someone who cares very deeply about the children I'm serving."
