Com alumna named Colorado State U. president

Lesley Di Mare, MA ‘82 speech communication, has been named president of Colorado State University - Pueblo. 

Formerly, she was interim president and chief executive officer of Nevada State College. She joined NSC in 2007 as provost and executive vice president of academic affairs. Previously, she served as associate vice provost for undergraduate initiatives and academic programs at Arizona State University West in Tempe, Ariz. 

She also has served as a faculty member in the speech communications department at the University of California, Los Angeles. 

Di Mare earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts from California State University, Chico in 1972, a teaching credential from CSU-Sacramento in 1974, and a Ph.D. in speech communications from Indiana University in 1984.

DiMare is the sixth president of CSU-Pueblo in the past decade. The Pueblo campus serves as a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), and is Colorado's fastest growing university with a student body of more than 5,000.
