Pioneer pitcher A.J. Gallardo continues to score post-season honors

Baseball season is over but Cal State East Bay senior A.J. Gallardo continues to receive awards and recognition.  In May 2012, opposing coaches named him to the 2012 NCAA American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-West Region Baseball Division II Second Team.  His impressive record resulted in his selection to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Baseball Second Team.

Gallardo finished the 2012 campaign with a 6-1 record and a 2.54 ERA. He hurled three complete games.  In 56.2 innings of work, Gallardo allowed 57 hits, 16 earned runs, walked 16 and recorded 37 strikeouts.

He is majoring in kinesiology major and expect to graduate with his bachelor’s degree in spring 2013. Read more about Pioneers baseball on the CSUEB Athletics Web site.
