CSUEB makes classes available to everyone through open university program

  • June 29, 2012 10:15am

University isn't only for those pursuing a degree anymore. The open university program at Cal State East Bay allows you to take individual undergraduate and graduate level courses, on a space-available basis, without applying to the University as a formally matriculated student. The program is a simple and effective way to make the University's classes available to the general public.

The open university program allows students to participate in a richer and more robust selection of classes than are often offered at the community college level. Classes can be taken through open university for any number of reason including, but not limited to, general self-improvement, updating one's knowledge and skills without obtaining a certificate or a degree, and raising one's grade point average (GPA) before formal application to the Univerity.

While almost everyone is qualified to take classes through the open university program, it is worth noting that regularly enrolled (matriculated) students or students who are currently applicants for admission as an undergraduate or graduate student in the current term are not permitted to take courses through open university.

Take advantage of this opportunity. To learn more about the program and to register for classes, Open University.
