CSUEB soccer wraps up 2012 season with 'Senior Day & Fan Appreciation'

The Pioneer women's soccer team will conclude the 2012 regular season with a pair of CCAA home games this week. On October 26, the Pioneers will play U.C. San Diego. The game is set for 4:30 p.m. On October 28, East Bay will host Cal State San Bernardino on “Senior Day” The game will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Pioneers will honor seniors Nina Cefalo, Shianna Falk, Eugenie Foote, Kara Yamamoto, Claudia Luna and Zuly Diaz for their numerous accomplishments with the women's soccer program.

“There's already been an emotional moment or two in practice this week with reflection of this team and group of seniors,” Pioneer coach Amy Gerace said. “It's been such a privilege to watch these young women grow as people and soccer players over the past 4 years. These six seniors represent 3- 4 year players and 2-3 year players. They are a very special group, not only because of their impact and personality on the field, but their pride and commitment to the program.”

Men's soccer will play Cal State San Bernardino at 2 p.m. then honor seniors Florian Reppin, Andres Ponce, Rene Martinez and Matt Mitchell for their contributions to the East Bay men's soccer program.

Pioneers will conclude the 2012 regular season on October 30th with a non-conference home match against Sonoma State. The match will begin at 5:00 p.m.
