Following an historic season that culminated with a trip to the NCAA Division II Championships and multiple All-American honors, Pioneer swimming has taken another step towards perennial success by recently hiring a new assistant coach. Cal State East Bay has announced that Colleen Fotsch will join the coaching staff for the 2013-14 season.

Fotsch was a four-time NCAA Division I All-American at UC Berkeley and helped lead the Bears to back-to-back national championships in 2011 and 2012. She and her Cal teammates hold the NCAA and American record in the 200 medley relay. Fotsch also qualified for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials in the 100 butterfly.

"The women of East Bay swimming and I are extremely excited to have Colleen on board,” said Ben Loorz, CSUEB's head swim coach. “Her experiences as a swimmer at the very highest level, learning from some of the nation's best coaches, give her instant credibility with the team."
