Job industry panel March 4 for those seeking career in Hospitality, Recreation, Tourism

Cal State East Bay students and alumni interested in a career in the Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism industries are invited to attend an industry job panel taking place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, on the university's Hayward Campus, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. It will take place in the Multipurpose Room of the New University Union. Admission is free.

Those in attendance will learn what executives, managers, recruiters, and leaders in the industry want from job candidates, according to Zach Hallab, associate professor in CSUEB's Department of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, who will be the panel moderator and is the department's hospitality management coordinator.

Joining the panel of experts -- each of whom are CSUEB alumni -- are: Keelin Jardin '08, program manager for Baywood Court Senior Living Center; Christas Mekki '13, proprietor of Magnetic Magnificent Events; Shamil Nawar '08, assistant manager of Intero Real Estates Services; Patrick O'Brien '71, retired general manager  of East Bay Regional Park District; and Adam Soto '08, inflight teammate for Virgin America.

The job panel session will be streamed live online through Pioneer TV at pioneer Webtv.

The industry job panels series is co-sponsored by Cal State East Bay, Associated Students Inc. of CSUEB, the Cal State EAst Bay Alumni Association, and the Office of Academic Advising and Career Education.
