Welcome New Graduate Students!

All new and incoming MS Statistics and MS Biostatistics students are invited to an Orientation on August 17th, 2023 @ 6:00pm.  You can join us on campus in Science North 220.

We strongly recommend you attend this session.  You can get more information about the program requirements, meet your advisors, fellow classmates and get your questions answered.

We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.  There is no RSVP for this event.

We had a blast at the 2nd Annual Data Fest!

The 2nd Annual Data Fest hosted by the Department of Statistics and Biostatistics - in partnership with the American Statistical Association (ASA) – was a success with over 45 students from different departments and Skyline community college. With some amazing mentorship and hard work, students learned data wrangling on an entirely different level.

DataFest is a celebration of data in which teams of undergraduate & graduate students work around the clock to find and share meaning in a large, rich, and complex data set.

A special shout out to Professor Eric Fox for leading the efforts in hosting the event.

Best in Show - Dan Hoang, Esther Ki and Gyubeen Park

Best Use of Statistical Analysis - Taylor Hansen, Huiting Wu, Matt Ko and Thao Tran

Best Visualization - Dongping Guo, Gurjas Singh, Peter Nguyen and Rohan Bierneni
