Contact with clients at the CCC are made by our Marriage Family Therapy Trainees (MFTTs). An MFTT will conduct the initial telephone screening intake take about 20-40 minutes and submit it to the Clinic Director and department clinical faculty for review.

The Clinic Director and department clinical faculty determine whether or not the CCC can provide services that are in the best interest of the client. Once approved, the client will be assigned to an MFTT who will then contact the client to schedule an appointment.

This process usually takes 1-2 weeks.  Counseling services are provided by master’s level graduate students with strong backgrounds in counseling theory and practice working towards their Marriage and Family Therapy license.  All MFTTs are under the direct supervision of licensed clinical faculty.  All sessions are video taped and reviewed by department clinical faculty to ensure the quality of client care.

One visit per week is typical for each client, whether seen individually or as part of a couple or family.
