Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism are amongst the largest industries and employers worldwide. Their size and impact provide for a wealth of employment opportunities in meeting and event planning and management, food and beverage management, lodging, resort and club management, travel and tourism management, recreation management, outdoor recreation, and recreation therapy.
The Department of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism provides programs with a curriculum that offers experiential learning, industry-relevant coursework, and dedicated faculty mentorship to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical expertise necessary to thrive and lead in these dynamic, growing, and exciting industries.
The CSUEB Hospitality, Recreation, & Tourism (HRT) department is the only one that offers a fully online degree completion across the 15 CSU HRT programs.
In 2023, of the 517,000 new jobs in America, nearly a quarter were in leisure and hospitality--making HRT the hottest current job sector.
