Shiori Hoke-Greller has been teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced Japanese at CSUEB since 2006. Additionally, she teaches at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Soko Gakuen in San Francisco, and previously worked at UC Berkeley. A native of Japan, Mrs. Hoke-Greller received her B.A. in English literature from Kwassui Women’s College in Nagasaki before arriving in the U.S. She then completed her M.A. in teaching at San Francisco State University in 2006. Mrs. Hoke-Greller is well known for her hands-on, interactive lessons which include cultural discussions and activities in addition to the language itself. Most recently, she has been promoting on-campus fund raisers to help the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. When not teaching, she enjoys cooking and reading.
