Alicia  Telford

Lecturer, French Horn

Department of Music

Alicia Telford was born into a musical family on the foggy coast of Northern California.  She attended college at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University, where she studied the French Horn with David Krehbiel, then Principal Horn of the San Francisco Symphony.  Ms. Telford is a busy freelance musician and Horn teacher in the Bay Area.  She performs as a tenured member with the Oakland Symphony, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, ECO Ensemble and the Golden Gate Brass Quintet.  She also performs as a regular extra musician with the San Francisco Opera, Symphony and Ballet Orchestras.  Ms. Telford is on the faculty as Instructor of Horn at UC Berkeley, CSUEB Hayward, and Saint Mary’s College.  She has recorded many film scores, video game soundtracks and television commercials at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County and Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.  When Alicia puts her Horn in the case, she enjoys gardening, reading, travel and exploring the Bay Area’s hiking trails with her husband and their two dogs.
