Freshman Orientation

Summer 2022 Freshman Orientation Registration is Open!

Welcome to Cal State East Bay! This is a friendly reminder that attending Orientation is required for all freshmen students. It's a great way to meet future classmates, faculty, and staff and learn about: getting involved, classes and academic advising, setting yourself up for academic success, & meeting other new students

Registration Process:

Fall 2022 Orientation Registration will be open starting March 8th, 2022. Once you have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), you will be able to register for Orientation through MyCSUEB. To sign up for orientation, please go to MYCSUEB and sign in. Click on Classic View then on Applicant. Once you are on that view, to the right there is going to be a tab that says Student Orientation. Click Student Orientation and you will be able to choose your Orientation Date. If you are unable to select an Orientation date, the specific Orientation program has reached capacity and we request that you choose from an available session.
The Office of Student Life and Leadership Programs coordinates the university's New Student and Family Orientation programs. Orientation is designed to help you make a successful transition into our University. Orientation Team Leaders and University staff will guide you through the program. Get ready for an exciting experience as you meet new people, make new friends, and learn how to succeed as a Pioneer!

Orientation Programs

What are the different types of Freshman Orientation programs?

All of our Freshman orientation sessions are two full days in-person at the Hayward Campus from about 8:00 am - 5:30 pm each day. For all the sessions, we also offer an additional Pioneer Overnight Experience from about 5:30 pm - 11:30 pm on the first night.

Pioneer Overnight Experience

The Pioneer Overnight Experience is a chance to meet other Pioneers in a smaller setting. If you want to maximize your orientation experience, get a feel for campus life, and have the opportunity to stay overnight in the residence halls, join us for our Pioneer Overnight Experience. The evening will be filled with exciting and engaging activities, chances to connect with your fellow incoming classmates, and an overnight stay in our Pioneer Heights housing.

Join us for this exciting opportunity! The overnight option is a valuable opportunity for students who may be traveling from out of the area, as overnight lodging is provided. It's also a valuable opportunity for local Pioneers who will not have a chance to experience on-campus housing any other time! Space is limited and reservations will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis, so register quickly! A $65 overnight fee will cover the cost of housing and evening activities. *Make sure to Register for your overnight sessions in MyCSUEB when you register for Orientation.
