The smoke and tobacco-free environment extends to all buildings and indoor and outdoor structures on Cal State East Bay’s three campuses. Read the full details on Executive Order 1108 here.
Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited before, during and after commencement. Any graduate who appears to be intoxicated will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony. Guests who appear to be intoxicated will not be allowed entrance into the stadium or live-stream viewing sites. Further, any guests appearing to be intoxicated or causing disruption will be removed from the campus.
Please silence personal electronic devices during the ceremony.

An emergency first aid station will be set up on the stadium field and at the top of the stadium. Look for signage on commencement day.
Please check the local weather forecast to be best prepared. The weather can be very warm, and there is no shade available at the commencement site. Please feel free to wear hats, visors and sunglasses, and apply sunblock. It is extremely important to bring provisions for children, persons with special needs, and the elderly, as there will be limited food and beverage sales.
The ceremony will go forward even in the event of rain or excessive heat. Please note the ceremony may be abbreviated to ensure the safety of all graduates, guests, faculty and staff. Speeches could be omitted from the program and names may not be able to be read
