Advisor Guidebook

All student organizations must have a campus Advisor. Having a campus Advisor who is directly affiliated with Cal State East Bay provides the organization with the necessary connection to the University. Organizations can have an off-campus Co-Advisor as well. Student Leadership and Involvement Center is available to work with and assist student organization Advisors in clarifying and carrying out their responsibilities with student organizations.

The Advisor's role is to assist University recognized organizations in achieving their goals and objectives by providing a liaison between the University and the organization. The University expects Advisors to advise club members and officers of relevant state laws and University policies and to take reasonable action to enforce them. Therefore, the Advisor should be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures, including those outlined in Student Club and Organization Guidebook.
