Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz is a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Health Science. His teaching and research focuses on the delivery of health care, the health care professions, chronic disease research, violence research, program evaluation and patient education.
Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz is an award-winning researcher and author of more than 100 publications, including 12 books and one forthcoming book. His research focuses on health professions, chronic diseass, and violence in health care.

Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz is an award-winning author of more than 100 publications, including twelve books and one forthcoming book. His publications cover a wide range of health sciences topics, including chronic diseases, medical education, podiatry, violence and health-related social sciences.
Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz has presented more than 100 studies at national scientific societies, including the American Public Health Association, Society of Behavioral Medicine, American Psychosomatic Society, American Diabetes Association, and American Heart Association.
Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz has received individual grant awards from The College of William & Mary and CSUEB. He has been Program Evaluator Assistant for the multi-million dollar NIH Diabetes Research and Training Center and co-write multi-million dollar federal grants in substance abuse prevention and cancer prevention for the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health. Dr. Morewitz has also written multi-million grants for the Afghan Center in Fremont, California.
Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz is CFA Department Representative, Co-Chair of the CFA Faculty Recruitment Committee, and Member of the e-Board at CSUEB. Dr. Morewitz has participated in the CSUEB Science Festival.
Dr. Stephen J. Morewitz has won five book awards and numerous other honors, including Top Research Poster in Emergency Health Services at the American Public Health Association and San Jose State University Scholar Presenter for the 2010 Faculty Author Presenter Series. Dr. Morewitz authored or co-authored more than 15 research presentations at one annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association. He is Founding Co-Editor of the Journal of Forensic Social Sciences (in development) and President and Founder of the Forensic Social Sciences Association.
