Welcome to Earth, Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (EESC)! We are passionate about our environment and train students in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Geology and Environmental Geosciences, each with an emphasis on Sustainability. Our faculty are active in research outside of the classroom and are studying critical environmental issues including sustainable groundwater management, coastal hydrology, greenhouse gas measurements, sustainable food systems, fire ecology, Hayward fault tectonics, municipal water sustainability, and nature-based climate solutions.
