DIY Zine Making Workshop:

Presenter: Antonio Roman-Alcalá, Department of Anthropology, Geography, and Environmental Studies

While we increasingly live and teach in a virtual world, experiences and education never exist only — or completely — online. In this in person workshop (with zoom option)  we will learn how to use small DIY publications as a teaching tool and as an engaging and creative activity to do with students. “Zines” (i.e. mini-magazines) have long offered a way for subcultures and political movements to share ideas in an accessible, tangible, and easily-shareable format.

Check out this link for examples of mini-comics. And check out this zine by Professor Roman-Alcalá, based on his dissertation.
