Human Development examines lifespan development by integrating theories and methods from anthropology, biology, psychology, and sociology. Majors explore the mechanisms underlying developmental change and stability, and the sociocultural and historical contexts in which development takes place. The program's curriculum enables majors to thoughtfully analyze and evaluate theoretical and practical issues in the field and, also, to apply their education to diverse communities outside the university.
