Internships for Academic Credit

Internships for academic credit are an effective way for you to gain work experience in your field of study before graduation.  Studies show that 7 out of 10 internships may turn into full-time jobs.  We encourage all undergraduate and graduate students to complete at least 1 internship experience prior to graduation.

CSU East Bay offers an opportunity to gain academic credit while you are fulfilling an internship opportunity by registering through either your major department or through General Studies. Internship courses are numbered the same in every major:

398 Internships:  Introduction to professional development and internship readiness 

498 Internships:  Professional development and internship placement (undergraduate)

698 Internships:  Professional development and internship placement (graduate)

Spring Career & Internship Fair

University Unions (Multipurpose Rooms and UU 311) Discover more options for summer internships, part-time jobs, and career positions at the 2020 Spring Career & Internship Fair. This year, the event will be held in two locations: Business & Technology, Tuesday, March 3, from 11 AM - 2 PM, New University Union, Multipurpose Room Employers tabling at this location will be recruiting mainly for job functions related to business management, marketing, research, software engineering, environmental technician, business analytics, construction management, and other similar focuses. Social Impact, Tuesday, March 3, from 11 AM - 2 PM, Old University Union, UU 311 Employers tabling at this location will be recruiting mainly in areas related to education, social services, criminal justice, healthcare, and the arts. Review the list of employers a few weeks before the event and plan your visit strategically. Research the employers on Handshake and their website. During the career fair, engage yourself with the employers. Regardless of their purpose for being at the career fair or their industry, opportunities might be available or created for you when you engage with the representatives. This career fair is for you!
