About Us

The Advising Resource Centers (ARC) serves as a central hub that helps students connect with the advising office in their respective college or program. Whether you're seeking guidance with course selection, degree planning, or academic policies, ARC ensures you are connected to the right advising resource. Our mission is to streamline the advising process and make it easy for every student to receive clear, supportive academic guidance at Cal State East Bay.

Advising Centers

A key role of the Advising Resource Center (ARC) is to guide students on how to connect with an academic advisor. Most students receive advising through their College Advising Centers. Students can also receive advising from professional advisors within our Student Equity and Success programs, including EOP, EXCEL, GANAS, PIAA as well as other signature programs like Athletics, Veterans, and PACE.

  • Your Main Advisor is part of your Success Team and one of the people here to support you. You can find and contact them in Bay Advisor on your Student Home page. Click the envelope icon next to their name to email them and get connected.

    Need help finding your advisor? Visit the "Meet an Advisor" page to contact your undergraduate college or program advising office for help getting connected or contact ARC.

  • All stateside undergraduate students are provided academic advising through their college or program. 

    Graduate, extension, and credential students receive advising directly through their programs. Visit your program’s website to find advisor contact information and connect.

    Pre-admission advising is available through the Office of Student Outreach for prospective students exploring their options. Visit their website for more information.
  • You can schedule an advising appointment through Bay Advisor. Log in to Bay Advisor and select Schedule an Appointment to choose the advisor, appointment type, and time that works best for you. Appointments may be in person, virtual, by phone, or offered as drop-ins - making it easy to stay connected.
  • You should meet with your academic advisor at least once each term and anytime you have questions about your academic progress. Advising helps you plan your path, prepare for registration, and stay on track toward graduation.   • Academic advisors partner with you to help you navigate your academic journey and make informed decisions. They can support you by:

    • Explaining degree requirements and helping you interpret your Degree Audit

    • Creating or reviewing a clear academic plan to keep you on track for graduation

    • Assisting with registration, academic policies, and important deadlines

    • Supporting major or minor exploration and changes

    • Connecting you to campus resources and support services when additional help is needed

     

    Advising is designed to help you build momentum, stay informed, and move confidently toward your academic goals.

  • Yes. Career advising is available through the Career Empowerment Center, where you can explore career paths, internships, and post-graduation goals. You may also connect with a faculty advisor in your major for career-related guidance.
